COGNEX machine vision and quality inspection

An automatic inspection must distinguish acceptable parts from the defects you actually need to detect. BP Sight supports the study and development of machine vision systems, with expertise in COGNEX equipment.

Inspect, measure and identify

Vision can address presence or absence, assembly conformity, measurement, code reading and character reading or verification — OCR and OCV. Every application needs precise criteria: expected defects, tolerances, part variability and processing of results.

Lighting and optics before the algorithm

Material, colour, reflectivity and geometry affect the image. We study product presentation, working distance, lighting, optics and required resolution. The aim is a usable, repeatable image, even when production varies.

Validate feasibility on your parts

Prepare representative good and defective samples. Tests challenge the inspection with borderline cases and identify constraints before integration. Cycle time, triggering, controller communication and rejection behaviour must also be defined.

Integrate results into the line

A vision result must be usable by production: pass/fail, measured value, read code or part position. We study interfaces and diagnostic information. Traceability, image storage and maintenance scope are defined around your needs.

Is your inspection feasible?

A description alone cannot guarantee feasibility. Send the product type, defects to detect, dimensions, presentation conditions and available inspection time. We can then define the next steps of a study.

Technology and service areas

BP Sight is based in Villars, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and also studies projects around Toulouse and in Switzerland. COGNEX is mentioned to describe technological expertise, not to claim official certification or partnership.
